A Tenant’s Guide to Property in Holloway

Holloway’s rental market is incredibly active, which means if you’re searching in this area, you’ll be spoilt for choice. It’s hardly surprising, given just how much it has to offer tenants. As well as the local amenities, there are multiple train stations nearby, which provide easy access to Central London and all its major attractions.

If you’re thinking of renting a home in Holloway, here’s a guide to the property on offer here, and the best locations to start your search.

Renting a property in Holloway – what’s on offer?

    Spacious family homes

If you’re looking for something with plenty of space for all the family, Holloway’s rentable houses are likely to appeal. There are some great Victorian terraced homes on the market (which come with characterful period features), plus several contemporary houses too. Best of all, these properties often have outdoor space, which is a real bonus in a city location. Expect to pay anything from £3,000 to £6,000 a month for a home like this.

    Luxury apartments

Holloway has a wealth of high-end apartments, which offer floor-to-ceiling views of the city, balconies, and opulent fixtures and fittings. As you might imagine, they aren’t the cheapest option for tenants, but if you’re looking for a luxurious lifestyle, this is the perfect choice for you. Anticipate paying £2,000 a month upwards for this sort of home.

    Apartments in sub-divided properties

Many of Holloway’s houses (both period and modern) have been sub-divided into flats, and offer good-sized accommodation throughout. It’s possible to get a generously proportioned three-bedroomed apartment for around £2,000 a month, and those on a budget will be pleased to know that there are several cheaper options on the market too.

    Studio flats

If you’re planning to live alone, then a studio or one-bedroomed flat will meet your needs perfectly. These compact apartments usually offer a surprisingly large amount of living space, and many also come with balconies, or access to communal gardens. Best of all, they can be rented for as little as £1,100 a month, which is a real steal, given how popular the area is.

Where to rent a home in Holloway?

    Near the stations

If you’re commuting into Central London, proximity to one of the train stations is going to be a big priority. There are several rental properties near Holloway Road station or Caledonian Road station, and these streets are well served by local amenities too, such as shops, restaurants and pubs.

    Close to the A1

Properties situated near the A1 are also popular, as they offer drivers easy access to the city and beyond. Look for homes that are further to the south of the region (near Highbury & Islington station), as they have St Mary Magdalene Garden and Highbury Fields on their doorstep – ideal for enjoying an afternoon stroll in the summer.

    Near the stadium

If you’re an Arsenal fan, you might want to search for properties that are located close to the stadium. This whole area has been extensively redeveloped, and is now home to several luxurious new-build apartments and houses.
